GLP1 Agonists

GLP1 Agonists are medications that can aid in weigh loss by mimicking the effects of the natural hormone GLP-1. They work by suppressing the appetite, slowing down digestion, and improving insulin function which leads to reduced food intake and potentially weight loss.

GLP-1 agonists can lead to significant weight loss, with some studies showing on average weight loss of 10% to 15% or more.

GLP-1 medications are not a magic bullet and are most effective when used as part of a comprehensive weight management plan that includes lifestyle changes including a healthy diet and fitness routine.

Examples of common GLP-1 medications are Semaglutide (Wegovy, Rybelsus), Tirzepatide (Zepbound), Liraglutide (Saxenda), and Dulaglutide (Trulicity).

Clients interested in starting a GLP-1 for weight loss management, schedule an appointment to discuss goals and create a fitness and nutrition plan.
